Classified Staff Induction Process: 2010-2011 School Year


Classified Induction Program

In 2005, St. Vrain Valley School District initiated a comprehensive induction program for new and transferred classified employees to assist their development of the knowledge and skills required in their jobs and support their successful assimilation into the culture of the organization. The classified Induction Program includes:

  • Orientation to classified employment in the District that provides a consistent, inclusive, welcoming experience for each newly hired classified employee to the organization.

  • Mentor program opportunities for newly hired classified employees or employees moving to new positions within the District to support meeting job expectations.

  • Skill Block curricula and checklists aligned with District classified job descriptions to augment initial orientation activities and ensure competency and personal efficacy in an employee’s job performance by the end of their first year in a job.

The following guidelines are designed to provide new employees with the opportunity to develop competency and self-efficacy in the performance of their new job by the end of their first year in that position:

Phase I: Day 1 – 6 months Many of the training experiences, materials and tools needed by new classified employees may be similar for a variety of classified employee groups i.e.,

training experiences will continue with additional opportunities for job specific training through:

  • Additional departmental skill block sessions as needed by the new employee;

  • Ongoing mentor assistance and training as needed;

  • Professional development classes (i.e., technology systems, CIMS, etc.) as needed by the new employee.

Submission of Induction Requirements

Submit Induction Checklist with all required artifacts by May 15, 2011
